Meet The Photographers
Jeff and Rena Colling own Colling Photography located in Chandler, Arizona. Weddings are their specialty.
Jeff has had a long standing love of photography. In high school a friend introduced him to B&W photography. From then on many of Jeff’s summer vacations were spent pursuing wildlife photography. While still in high school, Jeff was hired for his first professional commercial job, a P.R. shoot for Gerber Legendary Blades. Moving on to ASU he enrolled in photography classes while pursuing his B.S. in Business Administration. After college, Jeff became a Realtor. Though he enjoyed working in the Real Estate field, he quickly found that he was doing so much photography work for other Realtors that he didn’t have much time for marketing properties. Shortly after switching to photography on a full time basis he and Rena were married. Rena’s love for weddings and photography opened Jeff’s eyes to the field of wedding photography. Jeff quickly discovered that he had a knack for what is now called photojournalism, though Jeff calls himself an “emotionalistic” photographer. Jeff has been very successful in his field and has won numerous awards and accolades.
Rena, a Certified Professional Photographer, originally had no intentions of becoming a professional photographer. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from ASU and was accepted to go on to Law School when she married Jeff Colling, who was already a successful commercial photographer. Watching him shoot pictures sparked Rena’s interest, so in 1993, she persuaded Jeff to buy her a medium format camera and she began practicing. Jeff taught her the basics, from apertures to shutter speeds; and she learned the rest on her own by reading every book and magazine she could find; and attending industry conventions and seminars. Weddings quickly became her passion and because she loves attending these happy occasions Law School was forgotten. This award winning imagemaker has come a long way since she first picked up a camera, she also has won numerous photography and album design awards.
