Have you been thinking about getting branding photos done, but are not sure where to find the best Phoenix locations for personal brand photos? That’s totally understandable – after all you don’t do this everyday! In actuality, there are a lot of great options around the Phoenix area. The good news is that you don’t have to have a Pinterest-perfect home or a styled space of your own to make it work.
I’ve done sessions in all kinds of places—some expected, some a little unexpected—and I’m sharing some of them with you here so that you can start deciding what locations are right for you.
If you want something clean and simple, a rental studio is a great option. Loft Creative Studio in downtown Phoenix is one that I really like. It has beautiful natural light and a neutral setup that works well for almost any type of business. You can bring in props or outfits that reflect your brand, and it gives us flexibility without the stress of weather or lighting. Studios like this are also incredibly versatile — they’re basically a blank slate. Many include styled sets, like a living room or an office setup. We can move things around, swap out pieces, or dress the space up (or down) to match your brand vibe. A full branding shoot with different storylines, props, and outfit changes can all happen in one location, which saves time and helps everything stay cohesive.
Peerspace is another great resource. Think of it like Airbnb for photo shoots—people list their homes, offices, or creative spaces for hourly rentals. I’ve found some really cool spots on there that matched perfectly to what my client needed. Whether it’s a living room, an industrial loft, or a nice kitchen, we can always find something that fits. One of the best parts about using Peerspace is that these locations are specifically set up for photo shoots and other creative projects, so you have the proper permission and release to shoot there right from the start. That peace of mind is nice to have—no last-minute surprises. Plus, the variety is amazing. You can get really specific with the look and vibe you want. And because the rentals are by the hour, it’s super flexible—you can book just the amount of time you need. A lot of people don’t even realize this kind of rental exists and will automatically think of Airbnb, but most Airbnbs don’t allow photo sessions and are really set up more for overnight stays than for a picture-perfect shoot. Peerspace makes it easy and intentional, which is exactly what we want when planning your session.
If you're in a wellness or fitness field, outdoor locations can be a great fit. I did a shoot with a client at the Gilbert Riparian Preserve, and it was perfect for her brand. It has a nice mix of desert, greenery, and open space that worked really well with her activewear and wellness vibe. So if your brand lends itself to outdoor photos you can look to local parks. One thing to keep in mind with outdoor sessions is that the middle of the day lighting is harsh and not the best for photos – you’ll want to stick with early morning or late afternoon.
Here’s one that might surprise you: model homes. In the Phoenix area there are lots of new builder communities so it’s a great area to hone in on this sort of location for your personal branding shoot. If you’re a realtor, or someone who just needs a clean, beautiful space with a homey feel, they can be a great option. I photographed a client in a model home and it gave her exactly the look she needed for her brand. It looked like her dream home—even though it wasn’t hers. The key with model homes is making sure you go through the proper channels to get permission. These homes are usually managed by a builder or a real estate company, and they’ll often allow photo shoots, but only at specific times—usually outside of their regular open house hours. So flexibility is important, and we’ll want to plan ahead to coordinate with their schedule. But when it works out, it’s totally worth it. The spaces are beautifully staged and full of natural light. It’s a great way to elevate your brand visuals while keeping that warm, lifestyle feel.
I’ve also gotten creative with commercial spaces—with permission, of course. One client and I shot in a tile showroom, and it worked surprisingly well. The colors and textures were fun to play with, and it felt unique to her business. Stores like furniture showrooms or design centers can work if they align with your brand, and if you’re respectful of the space and the people working there. Always ask ahead, and if it’s a commercial location, we’ll need to get a location release signed.
If you like a bit more of an urban feel, places like Downtown Chandler are great. There’s a bunch of personality—murals, cool storefronts, brick textures—and it adds a little energy to the session. I’ve photographed a client in front of a mural down there and it brought some fun color and movement to her images without being over-the-top.
And don’t underestimate spaces you already have access to. Your home office, your backyard, the coffee shop where you write your emails, or even the clubhouse at your apartment complex. If it’s somewhere you actually work or feel comfortable in, that can come through in your photos in a really genuine way. One major bonus to using your own space—or a place you have an “in” with—is that there’s no rental fee. That can free up part of your budget for other fun things like wardrobe, props, or professional hair and makeup. Sometimes it’s even a friend’s home that ends up being perfect. If they have a beautiful, on-brand space and are happy to let you borrow it for a bit, that can be a win.
I know some clients hesitate to use their own homes because they don’t think it’s “photo worthy,” but don’t rule it out too quickly. It’s true that lived-in spaces can be trickier to work with, but if the colors and lighting are in the right ballpark, we can usually make it work. Often, it’s just a matter of clearing out or rearranging a few areas so that the parts we photograph feel clean and intentional. The rest of the house doesn’t have to be picture-perfect—just the parts in the frame. If you're unsure, feel free to send me a few quick photos of your space, and I’ll give you my honest thoughts on whether we can make it work for your shoot.
If you're not sure what's allowed or how to approach using a location, don’t worry—that’s part of what I help with. We’ll figure out what’s needed (like permission, timing, or avoiding busy hours) and make sure we’re good to go. Most places are happy to have us as long as we’re respectful.
At the end of the day, your branding session should reflect the real you—the one running the business and connecting with clients. Choosing a location that fits brand is a big part of making that happen. That’s why I love having so many amazing options right here in the Phoenix area. Whether it’s a studio in downtown Phoenix, a park in Gilbert, or a coffee shop in Chandler, there are so many places around the Valley that can help bring your brand to life in a way that feels true to you.
And if getting in front of the camera feels a little intimidating, you’re not alone—most people feel that way at first. But I’ll be there to guide you through every step, helping you feel comfortable, confident, and completely yourself. With the right location and the right support, your brand message will shine through naturally. That’s the great thing about shooting here in Phoenix—there’s a perfect spot for everyone, and I’m here to help you find yours.
If you’ve been thinking about doing this but didn’t know where to start, this is a good place. And I’d love to help you find the perfect spot and make the process feel easy and fun.
